What questions we usually get about solar services

Does my home qualify for solar?

Not all houses are suitable for solar which we're the expert to help determine based on the geographic location, shadings, roofing materials, and the electrical panel the house is using.

How big of a solar system does my home need?

It depends on how much electricity your home consumes annually, how much sunlight hours your roof planes can receive, and the wattage size of the solar panels. We will help to determine the right solar system size for your home.

Are we receiving any government incentives for going solar?

As of now, the federal government is helping with a 30% tax credit for any homes that go solar in the United States. Some states are also helping with tax credits and rebates as well. We will help you to maximize your savings with any available incentives that apply to your solar project.

Can I go solar with zero upfront cost?

Yes, absolutely! There's many options for homeowners to choose that don't require any upfront cost or investment. PPA, Lease, and Financing etc. We will help to provide you with all the details and compare them side-by-side.

How much can I save by using solar energy?

It depends on your electricity usage needs, existing utility rates, and solar options that you choose. We will help estimate your savings during the proposal review process.

Can I sell power back to the utility when I have solar?

Most utilities have their own net metering program to allow homeowners to sell excess solar energy back to the grid. Each utility has different guidelines which we will help you to understand how your particular utility net metering program works.

How much does it cost to repair and maintain the solar system?

Most PPA or Lease options come with free repair and maintenance services for the term of the agreement. For purchase or financing options, it usually comes with 10-25 years of services. Most solar panels are very reliable and don't need much service, but the life-time for the inverter is around 10-12 years which may cost a few thousand dollars to replace each time.

Does installing solar systems require permits?

Yes, it does! Our installation partners will help with all the permitting processes.

Can the solar system damage my roof?

Installing solar panels on roof top requires penetrating the roof in order to securely install the racking system so it won't fly off the roof. HIring an experienced installer is important because sealing the penetrated area professionally will avoid roof leaks. We only work with experienced, trusted and reliable solar installers to work on your roof.

What if I sell my house after I installed solar?

For PPA or lease plans, the solar plan can easily transfer to the new homeowner. For a purchased or financed solar system, most of the time it sells with the house as an upgrade. Homes with solar upgrades can increase value for 4% average based on Zillow's research studies.
